So you've set up everything. You have a beautiful Blogger template that is installed on your blog, have put some Google gadgets on, and perhaps already started posting some blog entries for the world to see or read. But how will you know if someone's visiting your blog, and what particular post of yours do they like? This is why you'll need a web statistics software that can help on giving you some important details about your site visitors. If that sounds too complicated for you, then let me introduce you first to some of the well-known and very easy to use web analytics software that you can get for free:
1. StatCounter - my favorite web statistics software and what this site is using right now to track visitors like you. It's very easy to set-up on Blogger and it has a quick and simple web interface for viewing and managing your web statistics. With StatCounter, the site stats are reliably updated in real time. I can assure you that since I've been using it for several years now.
2. Google Analytics - Google's very own web analytics software is also available for free. It offers some advanced features like tracking visitors from all referrers, including search engines, display advertising, pay-per-click networks, email marketing and digital collateral such as links within PDF documents.
3. Site Meter - this is also a great web tracker that's being used by several popular blogs. Though I'm not really a big fan of Site Meter, I still recommend it to new bloggers because it's painless to set-up and it does its job well.
There's more free web statistics software available out there but I believe either one of the three that I've mentioned above can help get you started. So what are you waiting for? Go get that code and start tracking your site visitors now!
